My name is Sarah Coleman.  I am a happily married mother of three that has a passion for cooking.  In talking with other working moms I was surprised to find how few mothers are able to find the time to cook their family a healthy balanced dinner during the work/school week.  So many families rely on fast food and frozen entrees when they feel too busy to cook. 

 

Like I said, I have always loved to cook!  When I became a mother it became much more important to me to eliminate white flour, white rice, and limit the amount of salt my family eats.  Instead, I started using whole-wheat flour and pasta, brown rice, and introduced fresh herbs to add flavor instead of salt.  I have found that these small adjustments have improved my family’s health and have helped my children get over their picky eating.  The #1 obstacle in my home has always been our busy schedule.  With my husband and I both working full time, coaching sports, and carting kids to activities I found myself not implementing the healthy eating habits that we had established.  So I started making our favorite meals at night to throw in the oven when I get home.  My family loved the meal and I loved that I was able to give my family healthy food before rushing to our next event.
